Let me be the first to tell you that there simply isn’t enough words to explain the beauty that is California. I’m an east coast girl (Florida to be more specific) and although I love my state and everything it has to offer, it’s just something about California that gives me a rush of excitement.
I decided to take a weekend trip out to Sacramento to see my Sister and brother-in-law. I had no idea of the weekend they had planned for me. Upon arriving, I was so excited to explore a world so unfamiliar to me. The views from the plane alone had me hyped for a fun weekend!
I was able to do a quick day trip to San Francisco and Pacifica. Driving into the city I was just in awe. Driving in, the views from the surrounding cities were quite inviting. Excuse my ignorance for a bit, but when think California I quickly jump to LA and the infamous 90210 area code, oh and those damn Kardashian’s. So seeing cities that hold so much beauty is amazing and left me asking questions like, where have you been all my life?
San Francisco is absolutely breathtaking. I wish I had another day to explore this beautiful place, but just for the day I took in all that I could. We drove up into Sausalito and although that walk had me ready to pass out, it was well worth it. The views of downtown San Francisco, the Pacific ocean, and of course the Golden Gate Bridge gave me chills throughout my body. We then headed into Pacifica, where we ate dinner with my brother-in-law’s best friend and watched the Olympics.
Ill be back for you San Francisco!
The following day we went to South Lake Tahoe and then later into Kirkwood. This was the part of the trip I was most excited for. Driving on the highway that wrapped around the mountains was some of the most beautiful view I’ve ever seen.
Lets talk about Lake Tahoe! Luckily I was able to see it before the snow storm came in. If I could retire now, i’d probably retire there. Its simplicity and beauty offers this sense of peace that I so love.
Kirkwood! Apparently I got lucky this trip, because the snow that came in was absolutely perfect. I’ve seen snow before and I was far from impressed, in-fact I was over it within five minutes. This time was different. I’m sure because of the location and how the snow rested on the mountains. Again, I’m a Floridian so being in Kirkwood I was like a kid in a candy store.
California might just become my second home. It gives me a good vibe that I cant find just anywhere. I can satisfy every itch my little soul desires all in one state.
